Electronics and Communication Engineering

About Department

All electronic devices need software interface to run and connect with each other or other device controlling programs architected and developed by Electronics and Communication Engineers. It also gives great opportunities for research and development, as everyday consumer need new devices to support them in daily life.

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in 2008 with an annual intake of 60 seats. The department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design & Technology) was established in 2023 with an annual intake of 60 seats.

The department has faculty members with vast experience in both industries and academics. Currently there are 24 faculty members including 2 Ph.D degree holders, 4 Associate Professors, and 18 Assistant Professors. The department is headed by Dr. N.Vijay Shankar.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • PEO1: Provide top-notch education that incorporates open ended technologies to improve the employability skills.
  • PEO2: Train the students to analyze real time problems and design socially accepted and economically feasible solutions.
  • PEO3: Prepare the students to exhibit good communication skills, leadership traits in the professional career to work in multi-disciplinary areas.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • PSO1: The ability to absorb and apply fundamental Knowledge of core Electronics and Communication Engineering Subjects in the analysis, design and development of various types of integrated electronic systems.
  • PSO2: Competence in using electronic modern IT tools (both software and hardware) for the design and analysis of complex electronic systems in furtherance to research activities.
  • PSO3: Excellent adaptability of changing work environment with good interpersonal skills can lead in a team in appreciation of professional ethics and societal responsibilities.
